Apartment Therapy published a first-person review of Lowe’s Kobalt Mini 3-Drawer Lavender Steel Tool Box, describing how it helps organize frequently used tools in a small apartment. The report also notes the box’s compact size, stackable design and range of finishes; pricing, stock and sales figures were not provided.
Apartment Therapy has published a first-person review of the Kobalt Mini 3-Drawer Lavender Steel Tool Box, a compact organizer sold exclusively at Lowe’s, highlighting its use for storing everyday DIY tools and its potential as a gift. The review describes one writer’s experience in a small New York apartment; it is not a sales report or evidence that the product is selling out.
Writer LJ Smelker says the mini toolbox replaced the need to search through a tiered metal cart for commonly used items. The review lists a tape measure, level, screwdriver, drill bits, finishing nails and an extra drill battery among the tools kept in the box. Smelker says the box weighs about five pounds and is easy to carry around the apartment during a project.
The article describes the toolbox as 11 inches long and 7 inches tall. It is available with either two or three drawers and has a slip-resistant mat, according to the report. The storage unit can be used on its own or stacked with Kobalt’s mini cabinet, allowing buyers to add storage without replacing the whole system as their collection grows.
The report says the toolbox comes in 12 powder-coat finishes and is sold exclusively through Lowe’s. Apartment Therapy frames it as a possible gift for both experienced DIYers and people starting out, and says basic supplies can be added to make a starter kit. The supplied article excerpt does not name those five suggested items or give a current price.
Compact Storage for Small DIY Spaces
The review’s appeal is practical: a smaller organizer can keep frequently used tools accessible without taking up the space of a larger toolbox or cart. For people working in apartments or limited storage areas, the reported dimensions and carryable weight may be useful points to compare against their needs.
The stackable format also offers a way to add capacity gradually. Rather than treating the product as a complete workshop solution, the report presents it as a focused organizer for small tools and project essentials. Its range of finishes and gift framing may broaden its appeal, but the article provides no independent durability testing, price comparison or evidence of wider consumer demand.

It says prices were accurate when the article was published, but the provided material contains no price figure.
“I now know exactly where my go-to tools are and no longer need to go through the cart to find something simple like a tape measure.”

Price, Stock and Testing Details

Check Lowe’s Current Listings
Readers considering the toolbox as a gift can verify the current price, finish options and availability through Lowe’s before buying. They can also compare the two- and three-drawer versions and check whether the mini cabinet is sold separately if they want stackable storage.
Apartment Therapy’s article suggests pairing the box with beginner DIY supplies, but the supplied excerpt does not identify its five recommended items. No follow-up announcement, sale or product change is described, so the next confirmed step is simply checking current retailer information.
